Releaf is an agricultural supply chain tech company using proprietary hardware & software to source from smallholder farmers at scale, control quality, and deliver processed output to factories. We are on a mission to make food abundant and profitable for all in Africa. The current supply chain is highly inefficient and we are here to bridge this gap Factories in Africa run at less than 50% capacity because of limited access to quality raw materials, due to high fragmentation of the supply chain and poor infrastructure. Smallholder family farms own over 80% of farmland in Nigeria. Over 75% of African farmers use only hand tools and lose over 30% of produce to post-harvest losses. Food expenditures account for roughly >40% of consumer spending in Africa and are rapidly increasing. We combine proprietary hardware and software to optimize the consumer goods value chain to support each stakeholder with tailored solutions for the African market. We use technology at each step of the value chain (i.e. sourcing, purchasing & processing); our technologies make us more competitive than competitors, who approach sourcing and processing with traditional methods across the value chain. We use our geospatial product SITE to find farms, our SALT software to buy crops from farmers, and Kraken, the most advanced palm nut de-shelling technology, to produce vegetable oil that is sold to food factories.
