Guaro Farms was founded by an architect, Kidist Amedie, and a chemical engineer, Hana Rago. We didn't start with a product; we started with a problem. During our travels and research across Ethiopia, we saw a profound disconnect: the immense value and aromatic soul of the country's botanicals were being lost in a long, inefficient, and opaque supply chain.
Farmers were not receiving fair value, and buyers were not receiving the quality and transparency they deserved. We knew we had to build a better way. Our vision is to transform the spice and herbs supply chain in Ethiopia, creating a sustainable and inclusive ecosystem that empowers smallholder farmers, eradicates post-harvest loss, and promotes economic development.
